Poor Credit Rating?

Perhaps you have missed a couple of mortgage or credit card payments in the past, had a County Court Judgement awarded against you or have previously been made bankrupt leaving you with a poor credit rating.

There is no need to panic, there are still options open to you. There are mortgages available for people with a bad credit rating if you know where to look. Interest rates on poor credit mortgages (also sometimes known as Adverse Mortgages or Sub Prime) will probably be higher than standard mortgages. There are fewer mortgage options and you will probably need a larger deposit or have a larger amount of equity in your home if you are remortgaging, but there are still options available.

We know which lenders are more likely to offer mortgages to people with low credit scores and can advise you on the most suitable deal for your circumstances. We will help you through the whole process whether you are looking to buy a property or remortgage.
If you haven't done so recently, we would recommend you take a look at your Credit Report prior to applying for a mortgage, especially when you have bad credit. A credit report shows you the last six years of your credit history. Checking your credit file is really important.
